The Visionary Behind Peini

With over 15 years in dermatology and cosmetic science, Yaw founded our brand with a single mission: to create cosmetics that celebrate natural beauty while delivering uncompromising luxury.
Yaw realised that although Ghana was one of the world’s leading exporters of shea nuts and raw shea butter, it had very little or further use of the fruits within the country itself.
It is this gap in the local market that Yaw set out to fill with Peini’s luxurious organic shea butter products, offering expanded use for shea butter beyond consumption. After discovering the potential of some of these natural plants and fruits in skincare, Yaw formulated and founded Peini while studying fats and oils manufacturing at a college in Boston. Work on the product began upon his return to Ghana with the instalment of shea butter extraction and processing plants, as well as employing the services of a few rural women, who play a vital role in the value chain system of Peini.
Today, Peini Cosmetics stands as a testament to his vision—where every product tells a story of purity, efficacy, and sustainable luxury.

Ghanaian coconut oil, baobab oil, premium grade shea butter, and other natural plant extracts (essential oils) leave your body vibrant and glowing with nature’s caring caress. Peini means “Gift” in Dagbani, the language spoken by the people of Dagomba, a tribe in the northern part of Ghana, where the shea nut is grown. Derived from our indigenous trees, plants, and fruits, Peini is nature’s special gift to the skin. Using time-honoured African beauty secrets, Peini boosts and reinvigorates the skin and hair while naturally protecting you from the harsh elements our bodies are exposed to daily.
